How to Add a Dedicated SSL Certificate with Lunarpages Hosting Account ?
People are getting smart about online security. More and more of them are looking for the padlock icon and “https” prefix in the address bar of their browser before submitting personal information online. If your Web site doesn’t have an SSL Certificate, visitors may leave before making a purchase, creating an account or even signing up for a newsletter. But you can change all that with a SSL from Lunarpages.
How can you use a SSL certificate with your Lunarpages web hosting account? You can do this one of two ways, either by using the shared SSL certificate, or enable a Dedicated SSL certificate on your account.
Now why would you need a Dedicated SSL Certificate over the shared one that comes for free with your hosting plan? Shared SSL will not function with ASP, JSP or PHP pages. It will function only with HTML, and cgi/perl based documents/scripts/carts. This is due to security restrictions on the servers. If you require SSL for PHP, ASP or JSP you will need to purchase a Dedicated SSL Certificate and Dedicated IP.
Note:Windows hosting plan does not have access to the shared SSL certificate.

To purchase a Dedicated SSL Certificate, login to the Customer Account Page with your hosting account user name and password. Once you are in, choose the Upgrades/Addons Menu. To purchase a Dedicated SSL Certificate from the CAP, you must have a valid credit card on record for your account and a Dedicated IP purchased first.
If you do not have a credit card on record then please provide:
- Primary Domain:
- User Name:
- Postal Address:
- Phone Number:
- First/Last Digits of Password
